Bandhani Zari Navy Saree - 956

A beautiful meeting of two great textile traditions — bandhani tie-dye and Banarasi zari weaving — this navy blue saree is a study in depth and contrast. The deep indigo body is covered with small turquoise-blue bandhani dots, their rounded resist-dyed forms creating an all-over mosaic pattern. Against the navy ground, these bright teal dots have a vivid, jewel-like quality.

Along the pallu and border, large gold zari floral clusters — full, rounded blooms in warm metallic thread — are positioned at regular intervals, their bold Banarasi character providing a strong counterpoint to the delicate bandhani body. A narrow gold striped border frames the saree's length, tying the two traditions together with characteristic elegance. The turquoise satin blouse bridges the colours of body and border beautifully.
